About Move I.T. Training

Move I.T. is a new and unique approach to cardiovascular interval training. The class is based on Nia Technique's 52 Moves designed to bring conditioning to every body part, muscle group and joint in a 60 minute experience. Move I.T. classes are distinquished by somatic coaching, sequential intervals that isolate and integrate Nia movements and choreography designed to deliver 4 types of conditioning: aerobic, anaerobic, reflexive and voluntary.

Nia 52 Moves

These 52 movements have been distilled through 30 years of somatic movement exploration to represent the best in holistic systematic and systemic body-mind-emotion-spirit conditioning. Practiced in isolation and integrated through dance movement, Nia 52 Moves are proven to physically condition the body and enhance movement skill and increase overall perceptual motor skills represented in flexibility, mobility, agility, stability and strength. The movements originate from diverse modalities spanning dance, martial arts and therapeutic practices.

(This is the pre-requisite to the Move I.T. Teacher Training).

This training is ideal for those wanting to learn more about how to condition their body and develop movement skill. Beginner's to advanced movers will find value in the 2-day movement intensive.

The training takes you through all of the moves beginning in the base of the body into the core and finishing with the upper extremities. Basic anatomy related to each move is presented (exercise science) as you practice the technique while being coached to achieve 4 types of conditioning (craft). Through movement and music you explore how you can consciouly achieve your fitness goals (art).

By the end of the training, you will have somatically deepened your relationship with all parts of your body. Through the energizing experience of Move I.T. classes, you will gain new skills to condition your body and get more from your Nia practice or any other movement class.
