THE NIA WHITE BELT TRAINING - open to everyone - is the first level of a five-belt training series that presents a body-centered approach to health, wellness &amp; fitness. Moreover if you have a desire to share Nia in a professional capacity, the White Belt Training is your entryway into teaching. Those who choose to pursue the path of personal enrichment use this training as a starting point for becoming a master student (in what???).<br>Over the course of one week, you will comprehensively explore physical sensation through five core-competency areas of study including movement, music, anatomy, science &amp; philosophy. This joyful journey into the self is instrumental in helping you develop body knowing by learning to listen, interpret &amp; consciously respond to the information your body communicates to you via sensation. You’ll immerse yourself in the moves, &amp; develop your awareness of your own body. Over the course of the week you’ll learn how to focus on your movement &amp; to become more attentive to &amp; mindful of your whole self – body, mind &amp; soul. With each day of exploration, your body awareness will become more sensitive &amp; more refined.<br>Enroll in an upcoming training today, &amp; positively shape the way you feel, look, think &amp; live.<br><br>WHAT IS NIA? Nia is danced joy of movement &amp; represents a holistic movement concept which unites body, mind &amp; soul. Unlike other fitness concepts, it doesn’t focus on getting the maximum cardio or strength workout in the shortest time. The mixture of different techniques from dance, yoga &amp; martial arts allows you to feel &amp; experience as many different ways of moving as possible in order to give your body balance, strength &amp; beauty.<br>Sessions incorporate alternating expressive power &amp; muscle strength, yin &amp; yang, choreographed steps &amp; short free dance segments. Above, you chose your own intensity levels (low, medium, high).<br>This means that you can be in charge of your own wellbeing. In class, you are encouraged to listen to your inner voice, to be guided by the ‘pleasure principle’, &amp; so to perform the moves in such a way that they are healing &amp; do your body good.<br><br>AFTER THE WHITE BELT - Upon graduation, you are eligible to become a member. As a member, you obtain a teaching license (whether you decide to use it or not) &amp; have exclusive access to an in-depth continuing education program, an online forum, &amp; special benefits &amp; privileges. If you decide to teach, you may enroll in the Green Belt Training - it’s dedicated to the craft of teaching.
